Summary: |
An earthquake in the Olympia, Washingon area damaged the dome of the State Capitol Building. The dome needed to be braced and secured immediately in order to allow repair work to commence. This was a unique situation due to the size of space available between the pillars of the dome. Because this was a government job, the University of Washington had to certify the Liftplate System. The individual columns were subjected to and withstood 125,000 lbs of weight.
